Auto execs are coming clean evs arentworking.

Your right (Born in 64, so think I am last year of BB). Did not want to "change" being able to drive home straight from Fl to NJ after vaca (or even Nashville to NJ), as we just wanted to get home. So replaced 17 escape with 23 escape ST (before we we can't get the 2.0 EB anymore) Did not...

Battery maintainer charges to 14+ volts

No they dont. I have 11 vehicles, bobcat, boat, lawn tractor, one trailer with 65 series batt due to E/H brakes. I get min 7 and a max of 15 years on very low heat cycles for all of them. Been using cheaper 1.5 ampers for 20 years. My 23 f250 diesel does get a more modern 3 amper. My 05...

    Tire plugs, who uses them?

Can't know that for sure without removing tire and looking at it, then might as well do correct patching. I prefer the patches that actually fill the hole also. Even this smaller patch puts 83 lbf on patch @ 40 PSI tire pressure, which no plug will get close to...

Why are there so many AWD cars now?

Agree, use 4 low on concrete "surfaces".

    Tire plugs, who uses them?

Prefer to fix holes in my tires with something that the air pressure is trying to keep the hole closed, over something the air pressure is trying to open the hole back up. But I have all my own machines, so it's way easier for me.

Do you believe in that red battery anti corrosion spray?

Been using Kopr-Shield since I was a kid. Works really well on boats and offroad rigs. https://www.specialized.net/cp8-tb-thomas-betts-kopr-shield-compound-8-oz.html

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

Even an older RF machine measures rim diameter, the diameter of where you put on weights (if different than main rim diameter, say inside of rim) and rim width (with two arms that you apply against the rim in various spots). Even does full lateral and radial runout (if you do bare rim).

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

Fairly common on some of their std pass car AS's, from what I've read (and experienced). "As an official distributor of Michelin's...I see this all the time...even pirelli's (crappy to my standards) don't show this when they racing slick bald in a never-ending heat cycle" Mine were 4-5...

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

Yes, I have had great luck with Mich perf tires, pretty much the smoothest, vibration free tires (PS4S's), I've ever owned. Now their typical AS's I've got for my parents Grand Marq's. Most of them cracked all over, at only a couple years old.

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

Been looking at these as a backup plan. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Defender+LTX+M%2FS2&partnum=765SR8DLTX2&i1_Qty=4 If I have to spend another $1300 on a brand new truck, I will. But since I have the ability and machines, going to try to get "what I...

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

So far my RF is working for me. My new 23 F250 vibrated like crazy @ 58 MPH, right off the lot. Dealer got the fronts better, but still vibrated noticeably. They would not go any further, as Ford sets the RF limits higher than General (owned by Continental now) says they are (they claim 30, but...

    Vibration on braking

How does a rotor get warped, RIGHT after tire balance? (except as mentioned, wheel torque). The real question is, can correct wheel torque, "unwarp" the rotor.

Man forced to ditch $115K Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago: ‘biggest scam of modern times’

Yes, that EXO caged thing is not aero friendly :) I did consider it (due to the power I thought an EV truck would have for towing) and put together a plan to maybe make it work. I figured ext range with tow package lightning. Then two used Model S battery packs on my trailer. Even then, I'd...

Man forced to ditch $115K Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago: ‘biggest scam of modern times’

Pretty well if you aren't really towing any weight, have unlimited time to do 60 MPH max, love to stop left and right. This is my route (340 miles round trip) and setup, back and forth from home to go 4 wheelin for ONE day (gross close to 18K lbs total). Figure it out for me in ANY EV...

Man forced to ditch $115K Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago: ‘biggest scam of modern times’

How do you know it wasn't "EV" related? In a body shop not familiar and/or hesitant to work on EV's and/or being so limited in total production (due to being an EV pickup), could not get parts (FOR THE EV!!!).
