My 7.3idi specs either straight 30 weight, or 15w40 when it gets cooler. I just run 15w40 dyno whatever is on sale and do regular oil changes.

Ford has 2 tensioner designs for the 7.3 idi serpentine system. The old design stinks. You can buy both on the aftermarket. Be sure to get the new design.

I'm a huge fan of the 9th injector on the new duramax for that exact reason. Wonderful idea. Everyone should do that. I think the duramax's only take 10 quarts of oil. Thats a plus on your pocket book.

I love maxlife. Put it in power steering pump and it quieted right up in a few miles. It had just became noisy so maybe i just caught it early. I figured i should just replace the solenoid pack and change to fluid and see what happens.

Okay. Because even if the converter is good i still have to pull the pan to change the solenoid pack. If it's bad i have to pull the whole trans. Replace the converter and probably pull the pump too to see if the pump mod was done.

1990 ford f250 2wd 7.3idi 346,000 miles. Daily driver. Only shows 5 digit mileage but i have documents for all the mileage. Right now i use Valvoline Premium blue 15w40 and fl-1995 oil filter.
