Sorry for the confusion on the samples; the file identifiers only seem to appear if you open the images in a separate tab.
I did a "burn test" using 4ml samples in aluminium pastry molds over a gas stove burner to how long they would take to ignite and what would be left. The TC-W3...

Guys, inspired by Project Farm, I stove-tested a few oils I could get my hands on:
Castrol 2T (JASO FB): Identical specs to Castrol Go!. Claims to be an injection oil, but it has a very high viscosity.
Husqvarna PRO (JASO FD): A branded oil from a small blender intended for premix and power...
I heard of 2 stroke oil being used for fuel system protection (carb, efi, mech fuel injection) on gasoline vehicles by classic car enthusiasts. Not sure at what ratio though. 250:1? 400:1?
"pull your dip stick, show you the oil level and ask you "are you okay with this oil level " " That's exacly what the guys at that Shell station do here. Probably one of the reasons I never had a problem! How come that "Jiffy Lube" (a large franchise I suppose) can be so awful?
Honestly, it’s hard to say if these are common because I’ve never seen another one quite like this in any other town. It isn't a "Shell corporate" facility though, as the owner has a contract to operate the Shell Station. The property is an outdoor mini-mall deal where the owner also acts as the...
I’m right there with you on the "hassle" factor. Despite owning a high-riding 4x4 Toyota product, I’ve officially retired from DIY oil changes. The oil filter on these KD engines is a massive pain to reach, and frankly, my time is better spent elsewhere.
My "lazy" strategy is purely...
I agree. The LSPI problem was solved by reducing the Calcium additives in the motor oils. TCW3-certified oils have zero metallic additives so its a non-issue.
On my older flex-fuel vehicle, I noticed the mileage penalty for "spirited" driving vs. light load, conservative driving is considerably less when running ethanol. The efficiency under load is so good that the expected 20–30% mileage penalty is reduced to nearly zero.
It's crazy, I mean, I...
My guess is the top 2 cycle racing oils lack the detergent pack to fullfill the Jaso FC/FD detergency performance requirement. It's trade-off: those additives take up space that could fit actual lubricant molecules. Ex: Amsoil has "Interceptor" product and a "Dominator" product. Both are...
