Ran 3 oil changes over 11,000 miles.
The wl10058 is a top 22x1.5mm oil filter.
These were accelerated oci to clean out some neglect with VRP.
I was seeing the typical 0 to 3 particles under my microscope when I dumped this oil.
Now I'm running a FE2, has about 20 miles on it. I'll run that FE2...
Adding an oil filter absolutely unequivocally helps.
Using my microscope I found if I blocked off the oil filter circuit debris starts building up in the oil.
The oil started out with the typical 0 to 2 particles in the field of view. It went from 2 or less to 3 to 10 in approximately 2 hours...
I went from 4,400ft in elevation down to 1,000ft for a job where I needed a big air compressor and it ran like crap. Had to close the choke about 1/4 and it ran good.
Once the crud has been flushed out I put new oil in them.

Used motor oil fromy car or truck usually has under...
In a real busy spring I could see a dozen potential junk mowers that roll in or that i find with no oil on the dip stick.
That's at least a whole 5qt jug to see if they run or if they are worth saving.
What are you talking about questionable origin? The reclaim oil I use in small engines only...
I was going to say cost and shearing out on that 0w but since you are using amsoil just cost.
For me I don't have any cheap 0w-30 options locally I have to go to the auto parts store and pay a premium for 0w oil.
I use calcium based grease at work because it's the cheapest as far as I can tell. It's fine as long as you repack the bearings every 2 to 4 years. I'd prefer to put lithium grease in there and let them go till the seal goes bad, the seal cracks or till water gets inside.
Calcium grease loves...
Yeah that's why people should do oil testing on long changes. My wife's Hyundai recommended 7,500mi oil changes but the oil is done usually by 5,000mi. Probably why those engines are blowing up.
