Going from 508 to 504 on my VW Mk7 GLI
I have a 2023 Tiguan that I bought used from a VW dealer. When I got the car, it had a recent oil change, and the oil wasn’t green. Later, when I had the oil changed at my local dealer, it still wasn’t green; the service receipt indicated that VW 0w-20 508 oil was used. Not sure what to think.- OhioTiguan

It is so disillusioning not to be able to trust manufacturers’ recommendations for grade and oci. It seems like there is a lack of hard evidence that 508 fails to protect the engine, but there is also a lack of evidence that 504 or even 502 has caused any harm in engines spec-ed for 508. Would you consider Valvoline Restore and Protect in your Euro car?
1) Where did you get the information that Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro is coming to the U.S.?
