Torx Plus has been around for atleast a couple decades. Fun fact Torx Plus is the official fastener of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Superior to regular Torx or old fashion bit types. It will show up eventually in the car world but it’s very popular in other fields.

So is Quaker State 5w40 Euro in limited production or just NOS online for over a year. They don’t list the PDS for it for a long time now.

The price of the Valvoline Extended Protection stuff is equal to or more than SVG if you set the recent 10% surcharge aside.

Amsoil XL 10w40 is very robust. On paper much better than the 5w50 SS. I did some research on a similar scenario for a friend classic car. HTHS and CST.

Probably an excellent oil choice for that rig anyways!

Zero oil burn. In fact I’d say oil level rises 2-3mm from fuel. Once my XL stash burns up next year it’s going over to Amsoil Signature 0w40. I can then probably do once a year 6-8k changes. Let’s see.

These 2020+ Subaru engines are fuel diluting monsters. Although the oil is more than capable of running 5k I prefer not to linger into a sheared down 20 weight viscosity. This was a winter run and wreaked fuel.

Here’s a flawless PGI filter as usual. 6 months/ 3500 miles on my 2021 Subaru Outback 2.5L 48.3k Miles using Amsoil Extended Life 5w30. I’ll swap to proper PG4615EX when a handful of the smaller 4612’s run out. Hopefully the 4615 is more readily available by then. (2023 MFG Date code)
