Aluminum readings from Ford 4.6 and 5.4 engines

No I think its just from a cheaper design. The cam bores are cut directly into the head, there are no seperate bearings. Heat treating or some other treatment at the cam bore might help, but from what I see the engines seem fine even with the scoring. I bought a ball hone to clean them up...

Aluminum readings from Ford 4.6 and 5.4 engines

I don't post here much anymore, but I wanted to bring something up that I have learned well enough now. For those debating the aluminum readings in oil samples from Ford 4.6 and 5.4 engines, it has been 99.999% proved to me that it is not the crank bearings, it is the cam bores in the heads. I...

Who came up with the 30 year loan?

"I think that we'll turn into a multi-generational mortgage society" The larger housing costs become relative to income, I can see this happening again as well. Especially to compete on a world stage. BTW - I for one expect to see prices sharply fall in the bubble zones once "creative"...

Who came up with the 30 year loan?

3 websites are a must read for housing info IMHO: http://patrick.net/housing/crash.html#links http://www.benengebreth.org/housingtracker/ http://www.willow.com/ Msparks - TN is a region that is still on the upside, unlike Miami and Los Angeles which are already heading south. Though I myself...

Who came up with the 30 year loan?

There is already talk of 50 year loans for the US. Depending I guess on whether or not the housing "mortgage" bubble implodes first. (I used to work in a mortgage house, it ain't going to be pretty when it finally pops)

Part# for FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve?

I think all the fuel filters use a different thread and come from the marine arena.

Part# for FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve?

Haha - that Napa part is $10 so I will give it a test try on one car. If it works I will be picking up some Chevy style remote mounts and using the $3 stuff, no bypass or anti drain back there either :-)

Part# for FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve?

I've tried poking and drilling the bypass valve through the holes, its not easily done. Price is a factor as these things sludge up pretty quickly from cold starts and the water vapor involved from what I have seen. If I was to spend serious money, it needs to have a drain valve at the bottom...

Pardon my ignorance, but where can you get Baldwin filters?

Part# for FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve?

Its being used as an oil/air seperator on a PCV valve line. I think its the drain back valve that is making all the air noise on the current setup I have. I will check out that Baldwin, thanks!

Part# for FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve?

Does anyone have a part# handy for an FL1A style filter without an antidrain back valve? Size doesn't matter as long as no antidrain back valve and it can mount to a remote filter mount intended for FL1A/PH8A.

How often are you using fuel injector cleaner?

None - oldest car (92 Ford) so far 230K miles or so. I have never had injector problems I will admit.
