So on the transmission side you think its better to use the transmission case itself or the transmission pan with a 2x4?
I guess on the oil pan side the only choice is the engine oil pan?
You don't think this can damage the gaskets?
What I fear is: 1) Causing any leaks on my transmission from lifting from the transmission, 2) Damaging my gaskets or anything else on the transmission oil pan or engine oil pan or also dent it. 3) pulling hoses or whatever else that may be pulled in the procedure.
Hi,
I am going to try to replace my front control arms on my 2016 lexus ES350. However to do that, I have to remove the front engine mounts to gain access to one of the bolts (on each control arm).
In the videos below, there's variations to this procedure. One guy does it by lifting it from...
Update on this issue:
So I went back and changed the air intake plenum gaskets, throttle body gaskets. Changed some hoses that hardened or had little cracks on the end - hose from PVC valve to intake plenum and temperature sensor to intake plenum. I also put zip ties on the ends.
Wow what a...
Yeah they go nuts with the salt around here. They even salt when it’s not snowing just to drop salt. It looks like it happened over a long time but most of it happened in last 2 years maybe.
The rest of the car looks ok believe it or not. The other axle I had to change couple years ago...
So I cleaned up this rusted axle nut by chipping away at it with a big screwdriver and wire brushing it.
That slot used to be much thinner.
It looks like some ancient artifact I drew up from the ocean thats thousands of years old.
I don’t think I’ll touch it till I need a new axle. The...
I noticed when I first screwed in my Speedbleeder was that there was some play even though it was used for the first time with the grey stuff on there. I know I got the right one because I asked them.
I put Teflon tape, but the way I see it, it gets crushed when you tighten it and when you open...
I didn’t have luck with this method either. It was the first one I tried. But I think where I messed up with this one is that the bleeder screws were really loose when I cracked it open and maybe air leaked in through the threads. I might have done better if I put some teflon tape on the bleeder...
Maybe this is my problem:

Air in the ABS system. But I never changed my master cylinder. 🤔
That was the reason why I put the plumbing teflon tape. Shouldn’t that stop the air from getting in? Thats the whole reason behind using the Speedbleeder check valves - so air doesn’t get in.
Maybe I try the grease next time too.
