The Nokian WRG series and the Nordman Solstices are fantastic all weather tires. Made if you live in Northern New England and the north Midwest. I would also highly recommend for Canadians depending on whereabout you are (and when).

Nordman's are phenomenal value and I can confirm the Solstice 4s are the WRG4s. Had multiple iteration of the WRGs since the 2, but these Nordman's are just as good. I got mine at a major tire retailer in the Boston area at a very reasonable price with installation and hazard coverage. Straight...
I drove one of these (XLE) all over Iceland in bad weather and kept control just about full time.
Great ride, too. If something happens to the SportWagen it would be a worthy alternative, thou not the same.
Sound like great tires. Out of Nokian's new factory in TN. If they ride anything like my Nordmans (repackaged WRG4s) they are probably built to near perfection on all new equipment.
Nordman Solstice 4s on the VW SportWagen.
They are made by Nokian, and can confirm they came out of their new plant in Tennessee. Absolutely wonderful all weather tires and are simply repackaged WRG4s but priced at a far better rate.
Boston driving in all four seasons, even moderate driving, I'm not pushing past five years.
There are four points of contact with your ride and the road. Don't second guess it too much.
Thanks for this. That was my thinking. I'm curious what sort of labor and efforts to correct. It's not a simple 'rear end' or front bumper etc.
Heading over for lighted pictures in a few minutes.
