    Kirkland signature 0w-20 4395mi, 2025 Nissan Rogue KR15DDT, 20114mi

I worked for Nissan, in their engineering/quality group, doing after-sales support, and never in 21 years did I ever hear anyone mention oil viscosity as a cause of engine problems. And, at least when I worked there, there was never a case, ever, of attempting to side-step a warranty issue...

Which year cutoff for Quincy Air Compressors?

I blast all the time with my old Devilbliss 80 gallon. It claims 6.5 hp, but I'm certain it's actually less.

Which year cutoff for Quincy Air Compressors?

Quincy QT-5 would likely be plenty. It's reasonably quiet, also.

Loud and annoying noise from sump/ radon pit, cause and solution

When selling our Ohio house in 2002, a radon test was performed and supposedly failed. Mitigation involved adding a ventilation system and a special sump cover. My house is the only one in the entire neighborhood with such a contraption. I would have thought that if radon was common in the...

Transmission Service 2004 Nissan Sentra - Pull Pan?

I've posted this several times previously, but when I put Maxlife in my 2006 Sentra, same transmission as discussed here, it shifted like crap. Shift flair and late shifting, particularly when cold. Use what you want, but this is my experience. With that many miles, I'd drop the pan and...

    Utility trailer @ Harbor Freight

I had one. Installed a 3/4" plywood platform and 2x4 fence. Pulled it with my 1.8L Nissan Sentra. It bounced around without a load, otherwise it did well. Hauled all kinds of stuff with that rig.

    Honda 1.5L Turbo Reliability?

Agree that the head gasket failure rate is above average. It's not an epic fail, though, unlike the Civic AC system failure rate. I'm way more worried about that, again, than losing the head gasket.

Started a healthy diet, when do I start to feel better?

I'm taking a break from the yard work. This morning, more trenching. Came across a large root close to the surface, so digging it out led to this. Good exercise...

Anyone getting Honda 15400-RTA-003 filters at the dealer instead of the PLM-A02?

When I bought my Civic in 2017, people were scrounging to hoard the older -A01 filters, which many feel were better than the later A02's. In either case, they are nothing fancy, and there are various options that are superior. Some Honda homers don't like this sort of talk, but it's pretty...

Started a healthy diet, when do I start to feel better?

Trenching you say? I did my early morning bike ride, but skipped my late morning walk...to do some trenching. I'm redoing the back yard, and working to install sprinklers. Had to remove a tree a few months ago because the roots were lifting my driveway slab. The tree was a medium sized...

    '67 Cougar, 289 CI oil.

When I think "Penn Grade", it's not oil like this, which is a standard synthetic blend SQ type oil. This is nothing like the good high ZDDP stuff being discussed in this thread.

Help me pick a 3/8” torque wrench

I was helping my son do the brakes on his BMW, and the caliper bolts call out 110 Nm of torque. I've got four torque wrenches, but the higher torque jobbie, Snap-On split beam (made by Precision Instruments), was too long to reach one of the bolts. A bit frustrating. Never thought of this...

Help me pick a 3/8” torque wrench

Clicking more than once won't increase torque, unless the user is hamfisted, and goes past the click. That said, it's silly to do more than once because it does open the possibility for error.
