    Matic-D alternative for Nissan

I used Peak, MaxLife, and Transmax ATF in my Sentra and it shifted like [censored]. Upshifts flared and/or slow shifting. Left the MaxLife in it because I was getting sick of changing it and 20k miles later it started shifting normal again. The trans doesn't seem to like ATF that's to slippery...

    New Corvette Break in Oil?

I don't profess to know what all manufacturers do when it comes to oil, but I did work at Nissan for 21 years and have some knowledge regarding that company's oil history. Back when Nissan Motor Corp (USA Nissan distributor) started selling oil under their own brand, the Japanese insisted on a...

Is there break in oil in 13' Pathfinder?

Almost positive Nissan uses regular conventional oil for the factory fill. Nothing special. Change it per the service manual schedule and you should be fine. The 3.5 is prone to sludging so keep on top of the changes.

    First Oil Change After Rebuild

Went though the engine on my '80 Suzuki GS1000, installed new rings, lapped the valves, new seals, etc, and was wondering what the general consensus is in terms of how long to run the initial oil fill before changing? Have Motorcraft 15w40 diesel oil in the engine now with about 150 miles on it...

80's Honda VF Interceptor cam oiling (lack of)...

I used to own both an '84 VF500 and an '87 VFR700. I loved both of those bikes for different reasons. The 500 had a noisy valve train which I suspect was a symptom of the problem although I never experienced any actual running problems. The second generation V4 engines, like the VFR, fixed the...

    Engine design VS Lubrication

I don't understand what you would change oil wise due to these factors: High RPM, plain bearing crank, placement of camshafts, dry/wet sump. Please explain.

    CBR Valve Adjustment

Adjusting valves is easy. I don't understand all the worry. One tip: before you remove the cams use some sort of scribe/paint mark on the cam chain and sprockets to assist in getting the engine timed properly again. Just double check your cam timing per the manual and everything will be fine.
