Fascinating study on Ravenol 0w16 vs 5w30 in fleet of similar autos

The first and mandatory step in showing that your oil is better than a different ACEA C3 oil would be to show that your oil fully meets ACEA C3 too. Otherwise we're in the "one armed bandit" territory where one could show that shampoo is better than oil.

Thicker oil civilization is taking over

I keep hearing that all those cars populating the junk yards have perfectly working engines, up to factory specs, and that the reason for which they are there is obsolescence or rust. Is there any evidence to support this theory?

    2018 Camry Hybrid Manual

Actually I was first intrigued that there was no 0W30 or 0W40 mentioned... but then I figured it out that probably they saw no value in running 0W downunder, other than to maximize "fuel economy", at which point you would be looking at the 0W16 - 0W20 variants anyway.

What are your considerations in buying a vehicle?

Speaking about "fuel economy"... I always wondered... A teacher teaches, a painter paints, a driver drives, but what is it that an ecologist does? What's the verb for it?

Low Viscosity Effect on Heavy Duty Engine Components

Low Viscosity Effect on Heavy Duty Engine Components

Here's a different one https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0301679X15003709 that may have the effect of rejoicing the thin camp. The thicker oil produced less iron but sensibly more lead in the UOA.

My chauffeur told me that Lincoln dealer service ain't bad either. They use 5W30 though.
