New to Real Winters; One Badly Ticking Lifter on Jeep 4.0L Startup/Don’t Drive Enough For 2x/Year OCI

Slight lifter tick possibly piston slap slap until 2 mi or 2 to 3 minutes when ambient temperatures or anything lower than 60. 70 or above the old goat is quieter than a church mouse

New to Real Winters; One Badly Ticking Lifter on Jeep 4.0L Startup/Don’t Drive Enough For 2x/Year OCI

Currently running 5W-30 restore and protect on my second oci. Fram Ultra synthetic oversized filter1. No noticeable difference performance and experiencing a little more seepage around the crankcase ventilation orifices

New to Real Winters; One Badly Ticking Lifter on Jeep 4.0L Startup/Don’t Drive Enough For 2x/Year OCI

Lowest ambient temperature i see here is 50°F. Moto oil geek has me convinced diesel specific oils are more harmful than beneficial and gasoline Motors in the long run. What would a straight 30 do in a 4.0 on my 50° cold starts? Looking for the fastest warm up time but with less oil burning in...

    Could smaller be better?

An 06 with a cracked skirt is possible. If may have a broken skirt, stuck ring and noisy lifters. That being said the Valvoline Restore and Protect has almost eliminated the tick at cold start ups and it's completely gone on a semi warm or hot start.

Parts are here and going on the next oil change.

    Could smaller be better?

Nothing as large as the 51773? It's huge but the only micron rating I can find is in the 40s.

    Could smaller be better?

Otherwise I'll be going with the FramXG8

    Could smaller be better?

Well, if bigger is better, can someone recommend something this size but with the acceptable micron ratings and correct material for the anti drain back valve? Most of the OG Jeep 4.0 crowd runs Wix/Napa 1515s.

    Could smaller be better?

Overnight, with a cold start. I'm not really trying to quite them down. I'm just thinking outside of the box. If a smaller filter is adequate for someone who stays on top of their maintenance, it could THEORY and probably by an amount so miniscule thatI'llnever be able to measure, build...

    Could smaller be better?

With a horizontal mounted filter, the center drains regardless. This particular filter is more than adequate for my 2-6K oil changes. My oil analysis have came back stellar. I'm just looking for a way, that hasn't been thought of, to build oil pressure faster. Even if only a split second, that...

    Could smaller be better?

2006 Jeep LJ/TJ 4.0 150K and still ticking. Want to run the absolute smallest oil filter I can, in an effort to get pressure up top to the ROCKERS faster. I've opened up my last three filters at 2-6K with no debris. The specs on the xg3614 match and I'm pretty sure it was stock on a bunch of...
