What vehicle is it? Do you road course race with it? Do you do drag with it? Do you toe with it? Where do you live? What kind of driving do you do? 5w-50 Amalie, and Mobil 1 SUPERCAR 5W-50 is what I use for road and road courses, in the mid Atlantic. I have thought strongly of switching summers...
Whole car is ceramic coated PPF, but it looks like below fuel filler the coating is gone due to it no longer beads or no longer hydrophobic. The very back of the car the vertical surface is not protected with PPF.
When a person does a weekend at Summit Point Virginia International Raceway, I assume there’s a lot of brake dust all over the car. There’s also always a lot of track slag.
It seems like it would possibly be more cost-effective to just water down wheel cleaner, and use that to clean the car.
Is...
Again for all that have education and experience with this matter is appreciated.
The other nice thing is that mobile one 15 W 50 is a good bit cheaper than the SUPERCAR.
Am I in any way providing less protection for my engine by using 15w-50 Mobil 1 full synthetic?
Thank you folks!
This question is for all of you.
I use 5-50 now. Why wouldn’t 15w-50 Mobile 1. be even better? Especially on road courses HPDE, where a lot more heat is built up? What would the drawback/s be?
The pluses as far as I understand is the better bearing protection/metal on metal(without oil or to...
It seems to me that 15W-50 would be a great engine oil to run in this engine for both road courses and daily driving in the summer since the temperature stays warm. The only question I have is the tolerances are the too tight for the bearings and such? Does it need a more watery engine oil...
Is there anything that can stand up to break dust etching/sticking to your wheels? Do any of the ceramic coatings stand up to the brake heat?
I am assuming the brake heat, then heating up the wheels causes the ceramic coatings to soften, and also the adhesive on the wheel weights to let loose...
Which cools better?
Or are they all the same?
Or for summer would distilled water and a couple bottles of water wetter work far better for road courses?
Something else?
This is one of the coolants that PEAK says is a replacement:
PEAK ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY ANTIFREEZE + COOLANT for NORTH AMERICAN VEHICLES YELLOW is free of silicate, borate, nitrite, and amines, and is fully compatible with other extended life coolants. It meets the performance...
I went to a Valvoline quick change place a few months ago and I noticed they use one coolant for all vehicles. I’m also pretty sure when I was at the auto parts stores that they have a model of coolant that supposedly works in all vehicles.
I daily drive and use my car on road courses, so I’m...
