    Valvoline R&P 5W-30, 4K OCI, 2025 Subaru Forester

Subaru FB25 oil temp sensor is after oil pump and before the oil filter on the front timing chain cover. Highest I've seen was 261 while towing. Winter temps 190-205 summer temps 210-240. 2018 Forester 6mt.

    Berryman B12 success

I have used B12 in the gas tank as directed every 3 tanks of fuel and while my exhaust was off the other day I noted just how clean everything was. Exhaust ports in heads had very light carbon, manifold carbon non existent. Catalytic converter free of carbon, a nice light tan color. AFR and o2...

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Unknown. Current owners bought it from an elderly couple that pretty much only drove short trips within town though.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

A 2013 Subaru Impreza I take care of FB20 engine using a few quarts per oil change. Owner reporting the level holding steady now at the end of VRP interval 3.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

I do not have a "before and after", I have "during" pictures on interval #2 of a heavily oil burning subaru. I will hopefully have an after picture in time. This is one of the cars I take care of. What strikes me is how the deposits are cleaned in blotches. There are small sections where heavy...

    Which should I use? VRP/PPHM/PUP?

I've switched most of the subarus I take care of to VRP with good results

Does VR&P help with DI intake deposits?

I have seen VRP clean the metal intake manifold on oil change #2 of a port injected engine with egr, anywhere there was oil collected. It was bright and shiny clean. I have no doubt over time and many oil miles this manifold would have been completely cleaned

Want to try HPL after 4 OCIs of Valvoline Restore and Protect

I second this. I did a piston soak to my Grandmas 2007 rav 4 which went from 3 to 4 quarts consumption in 5,000 miles to less than a half quart in 5,000. Using B12 in the gas tank every 3 tanks as directed has given me a very clean exhaust ports, exhaust manifold, oxygen sensors and cat at a...

    2018 Forester 2.5L 70k miles: PM Suggestions?

Theres a local shop here that absolutely ravages subaru lug studs. I take care of many subarus and have had more than 1 vehicle where I had been the only person to touch the drama free lugs for 40- 50,000 miles only to have this 1 shop rotate tires or whatever and cross thread or compromise 20...

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

I was at a red traffic light in my manual transmission 2018 Subaru Forester. Next to me was a 2020 ish subaru forester with stop start. Just before our light turned green I began to shift to 1st. As the light turned green I began accelerating. The stop start 2020 ish forester had started and...

    2018 Forester 2.5L 70k miles: PM Suggestions?

2022 Chevy 2.7L Silverado Burning Oil. Diagnosis?

Is it true that Restore and Protect isnt dexos because it would let the cat out of the bag for its makeup? Didnt valvoline say it would pass dexos easily? You're out of warranty, restore and protect isnt going to hurt anything and depending on the consumption cause VRP may help. It will help...

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Valvoline said it may help deal with intake valve deposits in GDI vehicles a small amount. From what I've seen in port fuel injected egr and pcv intake manifold deposits were cleaned away to shiny metal, everywhere that there was contact with oil that pools in intake. I would continue to use...
