Coming home from vacation on the 2013 Goldwing. 640 miles in 11 hours.

Bryson City, North Carolina to home in Illinois. On the Goldwing. Today. Left NC after breakfast. Went through Deal's Gap on the way. 640 miles total. 50 miles ridden in the rain. Made it home in 11 hours and 15 minutes. Stopped 5 times total I'm tired, but still functioning.

Engine blew up in the shop.

Had a '99 Park Avenue with the 3800. Was in the shop for something else. Mechanic was out driving it to check the other repair, and that's when the intake manifold gasket decided to let go... which is a known issue that affected so many of these engines. Started blowing white smoke out the...

having trouble getting a Single insurance quote

When someone with Erie Insurance hit me (their fault), it was a nightmare. Had to get a lawyer involved. Erie is no better than any of the rest of them.

What $850k USD buys in Redding, CA

"and a level of craftsmanship rarely found in newer construction." When a realtor writes this, I'd instantly be skeptical. The vast majority of realtors today wouldn't have a chance at being able to determine this. Also not a fan of the neighbor's back yard/back side of the house, that is...

Local Wal-Mart turned away oil change customer... no oil filters in stock for his vehicle.

The closest Advance/AutoZone/O'Reilly's/NAPA to this Wal-Mart is a 20 minute drive (one way).

Local Wal-Mart turned away oil change customer... no oil filters in stock for his vehicle.

A different customer had the F-150. Not sure what the guy was driving that they didn't have a filter for. I added a bit more clarity in my post. Thanks.

Local Wal-Mart turned away oil change customer... no oil filters in stock for his vehicle.

The main benefit is that it is close.... less than 5 minutes from my house. I quickly realized how they had screwed it up, that I am thankful for.

Local Wal-Mart turned away oil change customer... no oil filters in stock for his vehicle.

I was just out at my local Wal-Mart getting a new tire mounted and balanced (screw puncture in the sidewall... just outside of the tread). While I was there, they had to turn an oil change customer away because they did not have any oil filters on hand to fit his vehicle. They told him...

Anyone else turn everything off when you stop the car?

I work with a guy who sets the emergency brake every time he parks the car.... and it's an automatic.

There has to be a better way to clean auto glass than using microfiber towels that leave lint

I've never washed my microfiber towels in hot water. Room temperature water, no dye/no scent detergent, never with anything else.... just microfiber towels.

Is BITOG Even Necessary Any More?

I'm fairly certain, from what I've seen so far, if I use SuperTech Synthetic and change it every 5,000 miles... that I'll never need anything different as far as oil.

I just saw two very substandard movies

I haven't been to a movie theater in decades. Probably not missing out on much either.
