drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

Another thing that's pretty sweet about these cars is how fast the steering ratio is. like 10.2:1 or something crazy. Fastest ratio of any production car not equipped with variable ratio steering like I think is on the GT3 I drove a few times. The only car I've been in that can match the raw...

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

I was in the same mindset as you for, well, ever until recently really looking at the numbers and examples of how long these cars can last. I don't need more than 120 miles of range (270 now), which is the main metric that degrade over time with Tesla batteries. The Tesla drivetrains outside of...

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

What's funny is that I actually do have rally car experience. I used to rally a Subaru locally. And I've been in plenty of crazy fast cars like the Porsche GT3 which is one of my favorites. What got me is exactly what you described. I was expecting maybe a higher end Toyota camry or even WRX...

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

Since I can't edit my original post. Mine is the high Performance upgrade of the dual motor, not the regular version. Got it cheaper due to being more scratched and dinged than some other used ones, and over 100,000 miles but with almost 20K and 1 year of powertrain warranty left. Since looks...

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

So, mine is the performance model dual motor, just realizing. Over 100,000 miles, but fine for the price. It does 0-60 in 3 point something seconds. The braking regen is really strong and feels like driving a v12 engine that can rev to 60,000 rpm on a single reduction gear. Has that great...

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

It's funny how every initial complaint I had about the dash, the reliance on the single center screen, the low entry height, etc, all of that instantly became no problem once I felt that instant accelerator pedal drug boosted into my testosterone delivery system.

drove a Tesla Model 3 AWD Dual Motor

Was driving by a dealership yesterday and saw a used shinny Model 3 Dual Motor Extended Range AWD just sitting there with doors open and salesman ready for me to just jump in for a test drive. Never driven an EV before or even ridden in one, but I have been in plenty of super fast sports cars...

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

Y'all most certainly must believe I am taking the pi$$ with BS here, and I 100% assume nobody will believe me... but the Valvoline Restore and Protect has indirectly remedied a transmissionmission issue that had been going steady for 2 years. Now that the engine doesn't make strange noises on...

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

I don't hear any difference in engine sounds in a warm engine now that I am on full Valvoline Restore and Protect after doing a change couple days ago. Have 300 miles on the new oil. But the banging knocking I was getting before was so severe even my deaf dad could hear the sound. It would go...

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

The v6 1MZFE in the Sienna is timing belt, as it's a non-interference engine despite what the specs say. Toyota usually keeps chains to the interference engines, with a few exceptions. Regardless, R+P is the first snake oil that actually oils real snakes. Great stuff!

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

I was never expecting the oil to do anything about the noise, and didn't care too much since it only made noise when cold, then silent the rest of the day. Which is too bad as I should have documented it before going to Valvoline Restore and Protect, but I was only focused on slowing the oil...

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

I was reading from an online tech (I think it was BITOG, maybe) who mentioned it is less common but stuck rings can cause similar sounds until the engine is warmed up. With nearly 300K miles, it probably had a bit or two on those rings.. I've had many old cars with noisy valvetrains and nothing...

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

Timing belt engine, with fairly new belt and kit. Would a lifter bang that loud?

Loud clacking noise (piston slap?) on cold starts went away with Valvoline Restore and Protect?

I purchased a 2002 Sienna used a few years ago and it always 100% had a loud slappy banging sound on cold start if I got on the gas before letting the engine warm up first. Like someone with a 2x4 was rapidly slapping the engine block. A couple months ago I started putting in quarts of Valvoline...
