    2002 4.8L Chevy - 5k oil changes?

Those were the “Use an oil that meets 6094M spec” days…

Walmart Super Tech - has it been discontinued?

That would require American companies to forgo selling their products to those willing to pay the most. I’m not opposed to that necessarily (in the name of national security), but it would be a tough sell to the oligarchs here.

2011 Highlander mystery vibration/shaking. At the end of my rope!

I have a dial indicator in my collection specifically for a problem I had like this. However, it isn’t happening when braking so rotor runout probably isn’t the case. I like the idea of a road force balance. Thats all I ever have done when I get new tires.

AC Delco PF66 Used Oil Filter Cut Open In Service 4k miles

Leaky over the course of oil change interval. Now that you mention it, whats really crazy is the PF48 back in the day was 22 lbs/ft.

AC Delco PF66 Used Oil Filter Cut Open In Service 4k miles

Anyone reading this, just FYI if you run a PF66 Champ Labs filter (or a Champ Labs PF66 equivalent): Contact + one full turn isn't enough. Changing oil today I did “barely snug” + one full turn and it seemed to work well. Maybe I’ll just go back to getting it as tight as possible by hand...

Chevy 2026 Trucks still have Dynamic Fuel Management ( DFM)

“You guys have a much larger knowledge base than I do: why all the intricacy? Why not simply cut the fuel/spark on certain cylinders? Why deal with this at the lifter level, which has caused nothing but problems?” It sounds ridiculous, but the only thing I can come up with is the “spring...

Chevy 2026 Trucks still have Dynamic Fuel Management ( DFM)

I believe the DoD system has had reliability improvements since its 2007 introduction. I don’t believe these 6.2 failures are as a result of DoD, rather, crap parts (as mentioned above). In my 2.7 turbo (Turbo Max, if you will) it is completely imperceptible. I don’t think its nearly the...

Chevy Owners Manual: “50 MPH for first 500 miles towing?”

So a break-in diff oil change would ideally take place around 10k then?

Chevy Owners Manual: “50 MPH for first 500 miles towing?”

I’ll tell you one thing, given what I’ve seen on the construction of these travel trailers, if you lose a tread you’re going to have a lot of repair work on your hands. Thats assuming you don't get put into the ditch through a loss of control. Those little tires spinning like crazy are always...

Anyone take care of elderly parent in their home?

You really begin to see the best of humanity in some of these caregivers. Some of the people who would come in to help me with my dad were truly Angels. No amount of money could allow a person to fake it as well as some of these people who were so genuinely kind.

Anyone take care of elderly parent in their home?

*Hoyer lift for transfer* That one is one of the most demoralizing. Dealing with my dad’s incontinence was rough. I would wake up in the morning before work dreading leaving my bedroom and smelling what had happened overnight. Changing the diapers of adults by yourself is no picnic. I would...
