On my 3d 8f35 transmission and that's changing motorcraft fluid every 50,000. Now on the third one I just drained the motorcraft at 20,000 miles and installed Amsoil ULV. Shifts so smooth. Will see if it lasts any longer.....fingers crossed.
Dealer quoted me $6,300 to replace the wet oil pump belt on my 21 escape 1.5l. Lasted 260,000 miles. Just had a 10,000 mile used engine installed way cheaper than the belt.
Hey guys wanted to update.....my motor failed at 265,000 miles. Just had a used one with low miles installed and were back at it. Quality synthetic oil every 6,000 or so and you'll be fine. Be safe everyone😊
A mechanic at a local shop was telling me esters can eat a wet belt and make it come apart. That's why I brought it to you guys. I've been using amsoil xl but tries some ultra platinum in my grand marquis and it gets great gas mileage and is so quiet. Cheaper than the xl also. Trying to decide...
Will the Borate esters in Pennzoil ultra platinum be a bad thing for fords wet oil pump belt? Trying to decide if regular Pennzoil platinum without it would be best for the wet belt. Appreciate any info. There is so much miss information I want to use the best oil to protect that belt.
I drive my 04 grand marquis (90,000 miles) all freeway about 150 miles plus a day. I use Amsoil XL 5w30. How many miles would you go between oil changes? Appreciate any feedback. Hope you all have a great day.
