5K in my auto tranny on clean phase. Oops?

I did a bad thing... I basically forgot that I had put ARX in my auto transmission on my '97 geo prizm. (Didn't update all my records, then just forgot abotu it). So I've been running about 5k miles on a dose. Since there isn't a significant filter, I suspect I haven't actually hurt anything...

    Auto-RX -- A love story

Thought I'd share my AUto-rx experience although in my MC. I have a '01 Vulcan 1500 Classic that started making a clanking noise, like pipe wrench on pipes about 2 months after the warranty expired. Bike only had a few k miles on it. Tried many, many, many different things, different oil, my...

So it's going to take me a while to hit 2500 miles

Sorry, my bad. The ARX is in the engine. But I don't drive it much, so it's just gonna sit there for days/weeks at a time w/o circulating.

So it's going to take me a while to hit 2500 miles

Like probably a year or so on my truck, since the only thing it does is pull the trailer for camping, and we're not camping this year. 2 bottles of ARX sitting in there going to hurt it just sitting there? (F350 7.3PSD).

    Militec-1

Bit of a stumper for me as well. Actually, it sticks to the gears, making one of them slightly larger, changing the ratio...

If you can do a 5w20, why not just do a 0w20?

    Uh oh... too much ARX.

So I was working on my car (97 corolla), and thinking evil thoughts about engineers that design bottles (specifically the ARX one) that aren't quite the same size as other bottles, so that my universal pour spout adapters wouldn't quite fit, and I didn't have a clean funnel with a small enough...

Should brake fluid be flushed on a regular basis?

Well, I changed the brake fluid via the baster and then bled it down today on the bike. The front brake was just a little reddish/brown. But the clutch fluid, was this nasty looking brown goop that looked like water, it was really, really, really "thin", compared to the DOT 4 stuff I was pouring...

    ATF chang on 97 corolla.

Well, I have the ST ATF now, and I'm running a batch of ARX through it. Mebbe Ill send off a virgin sample to Blackstone for grins and giggles. I looked for the ST dexron VI, but they only had a couple of quarts on the shelf. I think I"ll just drain the pan, and be done with it. Nobody in town...

    Dello 400

My gripe with delo is the supposed reformulation for thenew specs. Delo 400 15w40 worked great in my F350, better (to my ears) than the amsoil 5w30. Now, with the new formula, who knows what I get? I like things to stay the same.

If you could only pick one motor oil.

Delo 400 15w40. Although if they made like a 5w30 that I could find, I'ddo that.

When do I change my oil?

I always change my oil during a waning or new moon. I figure it's symbolic of throwing out the old, and starting new. Of course, figuring out which weight oil to use numerologically speaking creates its own set of headaches.

Should brake fluid be flushed on a regular basis?

I suppose due to friction with the wall of the brake line, eventually the fluids might mix, but given the tiny motions, I would think it woudl take ages and ages.
