On my 2017 Elantra I wrapped a bicycle cable with lock around steering column cover as a deterrent.

My AutoZone AGM battery installed in my Elantra came with a Made in China sticker on it.

If you don't replace it the battery will need a jump soon. If you do replace it the battery was probably going to last years. I think it really depends on who's vehicle it is and if they want a possible dead battery at an inconvenient time.
