Has anyone here ever worked at a Quick lube?

I worked at a Buffalo location in the early 90s when a large Kentucky oil company started a new chain, hint hint. It was a good time, we all liked our job and got along, mgrs never told us to hard sell, just follow procedures, customers really trusted us. We started a couple cars with no oil...

Burning oil so is there a leaky valve additive?

Try Auto-RX, it stopped my leaky valve seals causing start up smoke, that's quite a bit of oil to be burning, good luck

What oil additives make a difference?

My experience with Auto-RX in early '00s was incredible. 1991 toyota Camry wagon 2.0 liter 4 valve at 90,000 miles every morning it would blow a 2 second puff of blue smoke on startup , no more during the day...valve seals leaking? after driving 5 hours to Rochester on 3 diff occasions it would...

    Insomnia cure needed

Ambien works really well, you would have to consult your Dr. I took it less than 6 times, it is not recommended for long term use. It blocks certain receptors in your brain that would keep you awake and focused (focused on not being asleep). You fall asleep and have rem sleep so your refreshed...

    Supreme 7000 10W30 97 Camry V6 9,868 mi.

Last Z, Yes this is one of the sludge engines, even after a diet of Supertech and valvoline, (one OCI was a year!) it cleaned right up. Joe

oil was in use from very end of Dec. to mid March. Schaeffer's does not have TBN on most kits. They do sell a ton of this oil, if you want some, you gotta order a ton. Joe

    Martha Stewart found GUILTY!

Don't worry Buster, the Enron boys'll be gettin theirs. As they go to jail they're going to Texas state maximum security. Even though the feds are prosecuting, Texas is doing the punishing.

    US Military Vs Russian Military

The Soviets surpassed us in mostly pure science type areas. Metallurgy was a biggie, they developed better alloys for sub propellers and jet engines but they were *** backward when it came to designing systems and engineering the many small parts to utilize their strengths. This can be seen in...

    Schaeffer's 7000 10W30 8,711 miles 97 camry 3.0 V6

I think it is 5.3, but I put in 5 then top it off after starting it, this time it took a full 6 to bring it to the line. The filter was Wix, maybe it was oversize. Joe

    Schaeffer's 7000 10W30 8,711 miles 97 camry 3.0 V6

Actually it was the last bit before it started to drip. I filled it with that last bit of continuous flow, still the bottom but it filled in about 10 seconds or less and didn't hold it under the dripping oil, the level was below the full line on the sample bottle. The car had been shut off...

    Schaeffer's 7000 10W30 8,711 miles 97 camry 3.0 V6

I had been planning on selling it for almost two years and it went for a couple of extended OCIs without any planning or consideration.

    Schaeffer's 7000 10W30 8,711 miles 97 camry 3.0 V6

It is the engine that is involved in the sludge issue, and this car has seen some OCI abuse when I owned it. The car goes from upstate NY to northern NJ every day, so it gets started on some cold mornings. I forgot to add that it was a Schaeffer analysis so no TBN to report. Joe

This is my brother's car, driven mostly highway. This sample was taken as the last oil was dripping from the pan for I had nearly forgotten to do it. No make up oil. 6 quart pan Oil was in use September 22 till mid Dec. Schaeffer's recommends increasing to 10,700 miles My brother is fully...

    Supreme 7000 10W30 97 Camry 1MZ-FE (sludge mill) 6,000 mi.

I believe all 1MZfe engines are covered under the sludge issue not just sienas, the engines are the same. I've never heard of sludge lawsuits over their 4cyl. engines. this is the one with the big syncromesh gears on the cams. Joe
