From the back label, seems like "Imperial Oil" makes Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 sold in Canada? Do they also make it, and the same formulation, for the USA market? There's no mention of pour point on the Canadian page...

M1 "ESP Formula 0W-40" is NOT A40, only dexos2, https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/for-personal-vehicles/our-products/products/mobil-1-esp-formula-0w-40/ M1 "ESP X3 0W-40" is NOT A40 either, but is C40, and has a bunch of other approvals, etc...

All of these posts, and I did not find even mention of Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 (with MB-Approval 229.5)? Have you tried it? Not sure about the track (dont have any such experience, but can't see why not), but for daily driving definitely. I don't understand any concern with 5W or even 10W...

If it was my car, and I could, warranty-wise, I would consider: Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX 0W-30 (especially for winter), Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W-30, Mobil 1 (European Formula) 0W-40, Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 (probably only for summers) And probably change roughly every 6mth/8000km...
