    Why Synthetic?

HOndaGuy, You have put me in my place. My 01 Camry 4 banger manual says to use a gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. The certain octane rating for my car ranges from 87 to 91. I was basing my analogy on the data I have. Is there a better analogy? I am sure that there are many. By...

How often do you check your dipstick...

I will be totally honest. I check my oil before I change it. I have never owned a car that burned any amount of oil between changes. I check the oil on my vehicles when they are new until the first oil change. The only time I do frequent oil checks is when I tow for long distances. Jeff

Iffy Lube Incompetence. . . Unreal!!

If you are ever unsure which way to turn an object to loosen or tighten it. Lay your watch on the ground, or in your case just leave the watch on your wrist and look at it. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Ahh. I am just funnin with you. Jeff

    Why Synthetic?

It is kind of like when you pull up to the gas pump. You have 3 choices of octane. What octane you choose to put in your car is up to you. All octane levels will work fine in your car. There are some added benefits to using one octane over the other. I have run nothing but Havoline dino and...

    New Exmark Lazer Z HP

The new cubs are not half the machine your 78 model was. I bought a brand new cub with mower, bagger, and snowblower. I used it for one year. The thing was always falling apart. I would lose a bolt here and there. Everytime I blew snow I would have to tighten this and that or replace a bolt...

Iffy Lube Incompetence. . . Unreal!!

Bad oil changes are not only limited to the quicky oil change places. I took my truck to the dealer for the first oil change. When I went to change my oil for the 6K interval it was 1 quart low. I had been checking the oil up to my first oil change. It did not use a drop. I never checked for the...

    What is worse...!

I produced the same sound effect on my 327 when I flipped the air cleaner cover upside down. That was 20 plus years ago. Fram it. Jeff

Is there ANYTHING that will easily clean brake dust?

I go to the car wash fill up a bucket and clean the truck and the rims. There is nothing easy about cleaning. I know it is off the subject. I have heard a lot of people say they use the dust sheilds. I just wonder how much of the cooling effect they take away from the rotors. Jeff

Changing an Auto Tranny Differential Fluid?

I am just curious if anyone has any secrets for changing their differential fluid on their car. I just changed mine yesterday on my 01 Camry. I have to tell you it was kind of a bugger. What I did was drive it up on some ramps to drain the fluid and remove the fill plug. After the drain...

I had a brother who used to talk like that. He has since gone and received help. He is all better now.

Using Dino or Synthetic for 3-5K changes

I own a 01 Camry with the same engine. In my scheduled maintenance log it says that you should do your oil changes at 5K or 4 month intervals if you operate your vehicle under any of the following conditions. -Driving on unpaved or dusty roads. -Towing a trailer or using acar-top carrier...

    Armorall Car Wash Wipes.....

The best thing I have found for cleaning my car windows is Invisible Glass made by Stoner. This stuff works fantastic. I do not use the Armorall exterior detailing wipes. I have used their interior wipes. They do a descent job.
