0-40 M1 did it for mine

Had the same problem with my 2007. Switched to 0-30 M1 with the MC filter. Took awhile but the noise went away.

My 07 had start up noise which continued till it was warmed up. After the second round of M1 0-30 the noise was gone.

Let me ask it this way. Using the filter and oil spec'd for your car. Is it common for the filter to by-pass when its cold.

Is it common for filters to go into by-pass at cold starts and if so would this happen all the time or just when it’s around freezing temps

Blackstone was concerned enough to tell me not to run it over 7K

Iron was at 13. Avg. is 7. 7K on the oil and 30K on the truck.

Didn’t get the best UOA back on my 07 Ranger. Elevated iron numbers. I’m using the M1 0-30. I’ve read that it’s common to see higher iron numbers with this oil. It’s still got the SM rated oil in it will it make a difference when I go back with the SN.

Injector rehab did mine. Did a good job,fast turn aound.

I can't find a better filter that will fit in my cold box so I'm pretty much stuck with the K&N cone filter. Do you think putting the optional sock over the filter will help and because of the K&N can I still go out to 7.5 on my oci. Using M1 0-40

No felt difference in the engine or fuel mileage. The one difference I did feel was the price being they don't carry it at Wal-mart

Changed from M1 0-30 to 0-40 after I installed the blower.On the first round of 0-40 should I change it early or just run it out to 7500. My understanding is you don't get the full benefit of an oil until the second change.

I ask because I'm going FI and my understanding is the more water the better the cooling as in water transfer's heat better than coolant
