    Driveshaft mounted parking brake fluid.

It probably uses the same fluid as the transmission so if there is a seal failure, you don't get a dissimilar fluid in either unit and cause problems. Match the transmission fluid.

    Random car find.

I am in the process of cleaning the oxidation off of it and fixing the one rough spot on the body before taking pictures. The interior is pretty close to mint.

So far I have dropped $150 on detailing stuff to try and bring out the paint, although it's old laquer base it will probably not stand up without constant attention. I'm on the hunt for some F-body 16" rims with beefier tires, looked around for Vortec 5000 L30 truck heads to replace the shotty...

    Random car find.

I picked it up yesterday and drove it 560 km home. The mileage was good, nothing leaked and it drove okay at 110 the whole.

I bought it. What a gem.

    Random car find.

I was thinking ADDCO bars, the higher rate F-body or S-10 Moog springs (stock height but stiffer), and better monotube shocks. From what I have read, people who have put much stiffer springs and shocks on G-bodies still generally don't complain about ride. It also doesn't hurt that everything...

It has F40 "heavy duty springs and shocks" for suspension, and the heavy duty cooling system listed on the option codes.

I've already been googling what to do with it if I get it, and e-mailed the dealer.

305 with the 200R4 overdrive, 8.5" GM open rear end with a 2.73 ratio. Heavy duty springs and cooling, no vinyl top. 48,000 miles and might be able to get it for $1,000...it doesn't appear to have surface rust either.

Not exactly a classic, but for a thousand cash with 48,000 miles when I'm in the neighbourhood this weekend, I'll take a look. It's a G-body so there are a lot of bolt-ons related to the Monte Carlos, etc. of the 1980s. Build sheet: http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?vin=2G2GR69H1G2209244...

    Black light coolant detection?

Where can I find a black light and UV dye at a reasonable price to track a tricky coolant leak?

Cost Of Keys On Late-Model Vehicles

Local Ford dealer will give you a cut, chipped key for $20 and let you program it yourself. If they do it, it is $100. For my Malibu, it still has GM Passlock which means no chip. The dealer would cut me as many keys as I wanted for a flat $25.
