Rental review: Polaris Slingshot 2021 automatic

A friends dad has one, and the family is a bike family. Issue: if driven hard the single rear wheel in the back cant keep power to the ground.

    2023+ F150 w/ 2.7l ecoboost- thoughts?

Has the hurricane moved passed the camshaft failures? I love me a straight six!

What are you working on today?

Nailed it. Jetta, probably 83 Clocks tend to work in 4 out of 5. Most frequent failure is 2 blown caps on the power input, and since it’s 80’s, they can be replaced. Sometimes a part is missing like the second hand. If I can get the clock working, I shoehorn the sylvania ZEVO 164 led lamps...

OEM Kubota skid steer batteries lasting 8 years

I wonder if they are built with additional internal bracing for severe vibration? Maybe they are robust AGM with a little extra? Maybe similar to a sailboat-ready odyssey or Trojan?

    2020 Frontier - Tires again

Destination LE3 is a good tire. We had a set of destination LE, which was a darn good tire, and two sets of the LE2. LE2 was also a very good tire, it’s only limitation is the typical wet traction issues in a RWD truck. These will get you much farther than a cheap bargain tire.

What are you working on today?

Working on another clock to give to a family member. You can guess the make and approximate age if you want for fun.

    GSA 2017 F150 XL

If I’m not mistaken, thats a naturally aspirated v6 and the 6 speed transmission which was more reliable than the 10 speed that replaced it. If you enjoyed the vehicle it’s a good one to get.

Looking at Ford Mavericks-traditional ICE or hybrid?

I got brought this regularly. Good on you for a solid evaluation and making an informed choice.

    2023+ F150 w/ 2.7l ecoboost- thoughts?

I had an 18 2.7 ecoboost XL up to about 80k miles. Pros Quiet, decent mpg, handled really well especially with rear sway bar and rear shocks. Sync3 was great. Strong brakes. Towing programming was superb. Excellent power. Good looking truck. Has the capability of shifting well with the 10R80...

Engine blew up in the shop.

How’d the rod pierce the block at idle? Man. I didn’t think it’d pack enough oomf tut-tutting in neutral. Maybe if it was in gear with a little load and iac compensation in play…? I like reasonable talk and an oil sample for a back-pocket evidence, and just explaining it blew during idle. The...

    Tire Weight vs Rolling Resistance

Having owned 2 sets of the continental AT I can say from experience that the mpg loss is not significant when staying in size. 1 mpg or less. Lifetime average (excluding towing) in my 2018 f150 was 20.9.mpg. I also ran the Yokohama G015 and didn’t notice a difference that could be traced to the...

    2013 GMC Terrain VVT Solenoids

This If it’s ring and chain debris in the sump, it has to get through the oil pump and filter before it ever gets here. This is something else. Even carbon would have to pass the filter as well.

    07 Chevy 2500HD ~300k opinions

Hey the milestar Patagonia LT all terrains you can get from discount tire have been surprisingly excellent on a friends f150. I don’t generally go for cheaper tires, but these have been quiet, aggressive tread, long lasting, smooth, and hes building his own house with it. Tires have been...

    GM 9T50 / 2.0 LSY and Lubegard

No direct experience with 9T50, but I will say I like lubegaurd red. Shudderfix is also well reputed. Does red include anti-shudder properties? One thing I will suggest “less is more.” Dont start with a full treatment. Start with 1/4 dose and work your way up. I *might* consider 1 more...
