Adventures in Power Steering! I completed the Power Steering reservoir replacement and power steering flush today on my 2011 Mercedes GLK350! This is my story... Accessing the Clip holding the Power steering reservoir to the PS pump is impossible! I drained the reservoir with a baster, removed...

I would do that if the reservoir was $100, I'll gladly pay $17.54 for an OEM Mercedes part with a virgin filter screen. Since I'm typing...I am using Pentosin CHF 11S on the 2011 GLK350 is that the right stuff for the power steering?

I saw that...I could not find lots of info on it...I think it is called "Lubrizol" ~$13 I will keep that in mind.

AutoHausAZ had the oem reservoir, clip and seal for $38 and change... At least I'll know there aren't any dead mice or bugs in there...The fluid is $24 a quart...It will be a fresh start. Thank you!

I had poor car history from the previous owners...I was hoping that I could reduce imagined internal deposits that the normal oil change interval could not touch. Like you state...there were no obvious mechanical problem at this point. Just high mileage 121k. I might have actually done some...

OK Why does the pcv separator cap have to be replaced? Is it just the rotating lip seal that goes bad? Thanks for the info.

From the videos I have seen the ball ends of the rods separate from the plastic link. Who makes the desired replacement parts...since MB won't supply anything but the entire intake? Would it be better at that point to remove the plastic flaps and run without? 20 year old brittle plastic vanes...

Thank you for telling me that it is not GDI but port injected...I didn't believe you at first! Yes, I replaced the pcv oil separator...I cannot see the flaps but Idle and accel is solid. I would buy a metal lever for the flaps, got my fingers crossed! I am so happy I don't have to deal with...

Wow! You might be right! I don't remember seeing injectors when I changed the plugs! That would be awesome as I don't have to worry about intake deposits or clogged Direct injectors! Now I have 8-10 cans of CRC Intake Valve Cleaner on my shelf!
