EV and Hybrid - CAR - Front ends. Ugly.

Maybe they should put the driver's door up there again.

Are there any hybrids without a grill? I don't recall seeing one.

Snap-on tool prices are out of sight.

You'll be looking for that eventually! Usually they only put a switch on the ones that have a flange sticking out the other side. Here's my favorite Craftsman 10mm - flexes in another direction, has come in very handy at times - aint lost it yet!

When you work at a big shop long term you see a lot of different types of technicians, guys come - guys go. A couple of the older techs and I noticed a pattern with guys that had the huge - need crossing gates to move it - tool box. NOT ALWAYS - but often they tended to be a little less talented...

Snap-on tool prices are out of sight.

Here's one of my favorites that I own. I really should sell it to someone that could make proper use of it now that I'm retired. I still have a tool addiction, but I've admitted the problem and am working on it. Yes there are cheaper alternatives, but this is noticeably better if you're doing a...

A Fluke meter is really a good comparison. Craftsman makes multi-meters too, and Flukes cost way more. Professionals will pony up for a Fluke because of the quality difference and the need for reliability every day they work. And owning a Fluke makes you look wealthy too! :)

The last time I had a Mac man was around 2005, he went belly up and sold his inventory at blow out prices - cash. He said the company would've given him less if he tuned them back in. Which brings up another reason Snap-On and other tool trucks charge so much for tools. They usually have many...

I would disagree - Matco currently makes a very high quality tool. Mac used to but I can't speak from recent experience. I can tell you from salt-belt experience that Matco's non-slip sockets are incredible.

Snap-on tool prices are out of sight.

I got away from regular tool truck payments in the 80s, and used a much more careful tool investment strategy from that time forward. If I did buy a new tool box, or make other large investments, it was when I could afford them. For many years the only tools I bought were specialty tools or...

I worked with many techs that used mostly Craftsman, that did just fine with them. I am pointing out the reality of Snap-On's popularity with pros in the past. No disagreement on the financial viability of owning the tools, or Snap-On's future outlook.

Most times it wouldn't make a difference. But Snappy made a better tool - admit it or not. There's no need to ever drive to Sears if the tool doesn't break. Another reason is a fastener is less likely to round off, or get damaged with a better quality tool. Many professionals had/have...

The important aspect to remember is a professional trying to work without a spark plug socket, until the replacement comes. One of the reasons Craftsman was never hugely popular with professionals.

It must use a rare earth magnet. ;) Online Inflation calculator shows 1975 (my time frame) to 2026 - $103 would have been $16.50.

Long Term Oil Testing With Lake Speed, Jr aka "The Motor Oil Geek"

I was visualizing the debris shedding on the dirty side of the element down/off into the canister it's in - on the dirty side. It wasn't clear to me how that would then make the media less capable of keeping the same debris from passing through the media into the clean side. I didn't realize...

Long Term Oil Testing With Lake Speed, Jr aka "The Motor Oil Geek"

So when the element media sheds - it sheds on the "clean" side of the media is what you're explaining. At least some of the particles are shed or dropped on the other side of the media, from where it was originally captured. That's what I didn't understand. Thanks again!
