    Need Boat Trailer Bearing Grease

I agree 100% Sarge on the non-mixing of greases. I only mix the same type of grease period. To me compatibility charts are for emergency use only. Even then, I would remove and replace once the emergency was over.

    Need Boat Trailer Bearing Grease

Ignore the last part of my reply about the aluminum complex not being compatible. I was using an old chart that is incorrect. Aluminum complex is compatible with lithium complex greases. I would suggest reading this article about grease compatibility...

    High % Moly grease tubes.

Something to remember about the schaeffer 238 grease is that it is a aluminum complex grease. Make certain that it is compatible with whatever grease you are currently using or make certain that you clean out the bearings extremely well before switching greases. Here is an article about grease...

    Need Boat Trailer Bearing Grease

I would stay away from a grease with moly in it. Calcium sulfonate is the way to go. Moly reacts with water and forms sulfuric acid. calcium sulfonate alone is also better for the environment. Also, the schaeffer grease is an aluminum complex grease and is incompatible with all other greases. If...

What's up with Lucas G3 racing grease?

When I raced in SCCA GT3, I used the redline CV2 grease and was very happy with it. Much cheaper than the Lucas product too.

we do we have to grease things? Where does it go?

I'm sure that you have seen splatter on the wheels of trailers. That splatter is usually grease that has leaked from the hub. When grease reaches its dropping point and liquefies, it can get through the seals and leak away. The same thing can happen to grease in various motors. As they heat up...

    Timken Load

I just thought that I would chime in because I see so many people on here comparing Timken Load information as if it was significant when in reality it really isn't. According to Timken's own website, "It was generally assumed that the higher the O.K. value, the more load the lube could hold...

    Comparing Grease Characteristics

Mike, Have you considered using a calcium sulfonate complex grease versus the LC with moly. Moly is a bit corrosive. I've seen calcium sulfonate greases with EP levels that moly has and with water washouts of less than 3%.
