Ford got wiring harness in and I'm scheduled for Monday morning, August 18th drop off. Advisor said it would take a day and a half of work. Will keep thread updated...

In this particular case, maybe continually switching between oil chemistries (brands) might cause more copper leaching until each other chemistry forms its protective chemical film?

Interesting information...been using PUP 0W-40 in the 6.2 Superchargered Hemi. Guess less leaching of Copper is better than more? Was actually considering Schaeffer's 0W-40, which was formulated for the 6.2 over PUP 0W-40. Appreciate the post OP...Interesting info.

PCM/Labor (which included diagnoses) was around $2,100. Is wiring harness replacement super hard? It doesn't look fun...

Well, they diagnosed and charged for PCM and labor. Service guy said wiring harness and labor is about $500 more than PCM/Labor. Ford doesn't allow them to put old PCM back in, so they asked if I could pay the additional $500. Surprised Ford Engineering didn't recommend an overlay before...

Ford dealership heard back from Ford Engineering and they said something must be wrong with the wiring harness communication at startup. They are ordering new wiring harness. Fingers crossed...

Update. Ford technician has not heard back from Ford Engineering as of 1:00 p.m. today. Hopefully they are busy and not stumped...more to come (hopefully). Least truck is still drivable and not completely disabled. Hope everyone is well.

Great info. Thanks. Will probably look into this uninstall. Don't have enough knowledge to know how it could be creating some disturbance to the injectors, but you never know. It started with P1558 and put new injector in and reflashed PCM. Now P1555 and sometimes both P1555 & P1558. Could...

Some have reported battery drain issues with Magic Alarm...saw this. Maybe will look into this and see if this helps?

It was installed by the RV dealer...so my guess is they probably used crap stuff. Maybe should figure out how to remove to rule out? Doesn't get me any insurance credit and is an annoyance. Looks like they don't make it anymore so not sure how to get instructions so I can uninstall...

Believe it is a sensor mounted in the steering column that allows starter to be activated...you think that might be a problem? Not sure why it took 10 years to start being a problem? Heck I'm open to anything.

No, not factory. It is a device that I swipe under the steering column that allows the truck to be started. It has been there since 2014 and 48,000 miles without any issues...but I presume it could be causing something? At this point anything is possible?
