Mazda 3 Racing Beat Exhaust: Review

I have this same exhaust on my 18 Mazda 3 hatch 2.5. In fact this was my first modification and performed at around 10k miles. I have racing beat set ups on two of my cars, both of which were decided on after using a different exhaust that had more drone. They make quality stuff and somehow...

WM Everstart MAXX Vs Advance and Auto Zone

Their price match just says warranty for warranty. They can price match based on the same warranty. If a group size 35 with a 3 year warranty is 99.99 at walmart, they will match a group size 35 with a 3 year warranty.

WM Everstart MAXX Vs Advance and Auto Zone

i would assume so, but the Oreilly's stores around here give you trouble warrantying things. Last battery I tried to warranty, they refused because their machine said it was okay even though I proved to them several times, it would not hold a charge for more than an hour. They then told me, I...

WM Everstart MAXX Vs Advance and Auto Zone

I usually go to autozone and ask them to price match Walmart. They do it most of the time with no issues. Some will charge the walmart $10 installation on top of the battery fee. But the warranty at autozone is generally easier to deal with than walmart.

    Car filled a quart over

So I was checking my Mazda 3 for oil. I checked it 3 times within a week and it was a quart low so I decided to add a quart. Decided to check it again today, about a week after doing this and its now showing a significant amount over, it looks as if it is a full quart over. Assuming this is a...

    Shift cable

I just did one of these this morning. This is common and dorman makes shift cable bushings for them. bought dorman part number 14104 on recommendation of Autozones computer. They had about 4 sets on the shelf. used a screw driver and pair of pliers to get the bushing back in the hole. Works as...

About what year did coolant hoses get good?

It depends on the manufacturer. Working at an autoparts store, i still sell plenty of hoses for vehicles built in the 2010's. Mostly Chevy and Dodge. I don't see many japanese manufacturer hoses failing severely. Normally just weeping leaking, or minor cracks after 100k or more miles

Speedibleed brake fluid bleeder, any experiences??

You can get dorman speed bleeders from Autozone (maybe other parts store?) that work pretty well. They have a check ball in them. I usually put a hose on them that leads down into a bottle or bucket and just go.

Who has changed a fuel filter to fix a problem, successfully

I have a couple of old 80s mazda RX7's with fuel filters that barely flow enough for the car. I have to change them out every 6 months regardless of miles, or the cars will start to bog down on hard acceleration or even cut off if I rev out through 2nd and 3rd gear back to back.

Anyone have any experiece with Autozone remanned transmissions?

As an employee, I have sold transmissions through autozone. I find it is dependent upon what vehicle it is being used on and how well the unit is installed. Having sold them commercially but not to DIY, I warrantied out 2 of the 9 transmissions I sold within the first 6 months, but then did not...

More fun with gas prices ( pic)

Yall's plus and premium are only a 10 cent difference vs regular? Here in arkansas it is about a 30-40 cent jump per grade in many cases. If it was only 10 cent, my Mazda3 would see constant premium fuels. It sees about a10% increase in fuel economy on 91 plus over 87, but at a 25-40 percent...

Super Tech Gear Lubricant SAE 80W-90 and yellow metals?

I drive mostly Mazda's all of which state to use GL4 or GL5, but it must be yellow metal safe. I have yet to find a GL5 that has been yellow metal safe and does well in these cars. The only yellow metal safe I have found in stores around here is the Royal purple 75w90. I generally just purchase...

Question for Skyactive-G experts and fanboys

The Mazda 3 didn't get cylinder deactivation until 2019. My mother has a 2020 mazda cx5 with cylinder deactivation. Her's has been perfectly fine, though she barely drives her vehicle. I know some of the 2018 CX5's were recalled due to an error in the ECU causing some form of failure in the...

Question for Skyactive-G experts and fanboys

I have a 2018 mazda 3 hatch. I put my oil change setting on the stereo to auto. I have ended up doing mostly 7500 mile OCIs give or take with good results. I have been using the Mazda oil filters and the Mazda skyactive oil. Now that mine is out of warranty, I have been using some 0w20 oil I...
