Yeah they are idiots sometimes, just don't want to do work. I am starting to think my dipstick isn't entirely accurate either. For example, when I put it in halfway it still shows it full, a bit spotty though. Then if I put it barely in I still see oil above the max but not much below it.
Any...
The dealer said it was fine and that they won't touch the factory fill, "that's what the factory must have intended". At first I thought I was reading the dipstick wrong. The dealer said up to line 1 is fine, but my local guy who works on Audi and VW cars all the time said mark 2 is supposed to...
Plan on it. Just wish I checked it earlier so I could drain some.
So any bubbles on the dipstick is bad? Only a few right after engine shutoff. I'll try and drain some before my oil gets here. Got some Motul 8100 xcess on the way.
Thing is the dealer had nothing to do with this, it is still the factory fill.
I just don't want any long term issues like damage to the crankcase and seals, damage to the cat, and extra oil vapors gunking up the intake valves.
That's what I'm worried about. But why would the factory overfill it. I literally was waiting for my car at the dealer, so it's not like they had time to add more oil.
I also have already driven it 2800 miles :/.
Trust me I have waited 5 min after shutoff, immediately after shutoff, and when it is completely cold. All of them are overfilled. I am just wondering if a few bubbles (2-3) immediately after shutoff is bad or not.
Planning on changing my oil Wednesday either way.
I went to check my oil level a few days ago (I am now at 2800 miles), and it was definitely .5 to 3/4 quarts overfilled. I got the car custom ordered and it had 6 miles on it when I got it. I just figured the factory fill would be fine and I would change the oil at 3k.
I was reading around...
