2007 VW Jetta Out: PU 5w30 Fram cartridge filter In: Mobil1 0w40 Mobil1 cartridge filter I just beat the rain too. Took the used oil to the recycling center that's only 5 minutes from me. Maybe it's just me, but I love going there as much as I like to change the oil.

I went with the M1. Can't wait to put it in. I've never used M1 before, but always wanted to.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to check out the M1. Seems like many like it. Originally Posted By: A_Harman The W-number in an oil's viscosity rating refers to the maximum allowable viscosity that it has when measured in a standardized test. API specifications have the following...

Thanks for the replies. I know I have the wrong stuff in there now… Only time I did it, but could not honestly find the 5w40 at the time, so I put in 5w30 Ultra. Figure it is fine for a shorter OCI. Originally Posted By: Astro14 The difference between the two weights (viscosities) depends on...

I'm no viscosity expert. What the difference between 0w40 and 5w40? I'll save some one the trouble of the easy answer… One is 0w and the other is 5w. I have a VW Jetta that takes the 5w40, but I am finding it tougher to find over the last year. No WM carries it around here. Last time I went to...

Good info everyone. Thanks. I'm just going to leave it. At least for a few months. Maybe a changeout in July. We'll see though.

It's a regular gas 2.5. Maybe I'll just do a shorter OCI. It sucks, because the 5w40 was near impossible to find yesterday. Walmart has such good prices, but they don't carry it. Why doesn't the Ultra meet the specs. I remembered when they were on here promoting it, I thought they said it...
