What do you guys think about Royal Purple oil?

Honda rebuilt break in procedure, your opinions?

Why am I nuts, I don't like break in oil in my engine. 680 miles on the clock, switching over to RP/M1 before my dyno appointment/track night She sings at 8200 RPM Papa Bear, I'll send it your way..

    Breakin period???

I'm switching to synthetic on Sat. I have done 3 oil changes so far, 400 miles on engine. Rings were seated within the first 20 minutes of driving.. so I see no reason why a synthetic would be "too slippery for rings to seat", seeing as how the rings are already seated. I understand the use of...

Honda rebuilt break in procedure, your opinions?

Update. I now have 360 miles on engine, and I've done 3 oil changes so far. On the last oil change, I looked in the old oil (in a clean pan), and I cut the filter open.. Found nothing.. Everything is looking great. Is it time to switch to a Synthetic? What do you all suggest for a thin syn? RP...

Honda rebuilt break in procedure, your opinions?

Wouldn't an SAE 30 or 15w-40 be a little hard on startup? Just a personal pref, I won't run anything thicker than a 10w-x.. I'd prefer to stick with a 0w-x or 5w-x

Honda rebuilt break in procedure, your opinions?

Well, I just finished with my freshly built LSVTEC. This engine is a 200whp+ 12.4:1 compression motor. On first startup, I let the engine idle for about 5 minutes at 2000 RPM, making sure to vary the idle speed, up, and down. I shut it down, checked for leaks, none. Next, I took the car out...

weight of GM synchromesh/compatability w/honda transmissions

Intresting. My S1 tranny doesn't have any grinds, but shifting isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be. I'm currently running 5w30 motor oil and i'll be switching to Pennzoil synchromesh in the next few days. One odd thing that I have noticed about my tranny is a very quiet decelleration whine...

Which oil is thicker? GC 0w-30, or M1 0w-40?

I'll run the M1 0w-40 then, I won't ever put 2000 miles on an oil change, because I hardly ever put miles on the car. It is my race car/toy

Which oil is thicker? GC 0w-30, or M1 0w-40?

Wow.. Well, the only reason I was considering M1 is because we don't have much more GC in this town.. Oh well, I don't know what I'll do yet.

Which oil is thicker? GC 0w-30, or M1 0w-40?

I know I've heard of GC being almost a 40 weight oil , and I've also heard of 30w M1 oils shearing down to almost a 20 weight.. so I'm just trying to figure out which oil is thicker at operating temperature. With that said, who is the winner?

    Mazda Miata valvetrain noise

How about Mobil 1 0w-40 or GC (If I can find the green)

    Mazda Miata valvetrain noise

I just test drove a '97 Miata the other day, and I'm getting ready to pick it up tomorrow. From what I've read, the valvetrain noises in the Miata motors are normal. Is there any type of oil that quiets this noise down a bit? It is pretty noisy mainly on startup...

Burning oil only on De-acceleration? Help!

http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/catchcan/catchcan.php These guys fill their catch cans with steel wool... This doesn't sound like a great idea. Seems that foam would work better, what do y'all think?
