I had my Rotella Synth 5W-40 tested last oil change. I ran it for about 1.5k street miles with 1 track day and everything looked great. This is from a slightly tuned STi (17-18psi on the stock turbo). So I wouldn't be worried about running the Rotella on the track.

I would stay away from 30 weight if you are going to be seeing a lot of heat/boost. My tuned STi seems to like RTS 5w40, I recently had an OA done on it and everything looked great. I only had 1.5k miles on the oil but there was also an hour and a half of track time. So I would go with a good 5W40

I'm running Rotella synth 5-40 on my slightly modded STi. I had it on the track for about 1-1.5 hours last week and it didn't use a noticable ammount of oil. I plan on running this oil for ~3k total and getting a UOA. But so far so good for RTS!

And as Doc stated, the power level I'm running is nothing for these cars. I'll probably end up using Rotella and sending it in for a UOA. If it comes out good, I'll keep using it; if not, I'll look into Motul or another good synth.
