Mobil 1 5w20 in ford v10 half oil gone in 3100 miles and 11 months.

OP, in 2015 Ford changed the spec for the 6.8l to 5w-30, that’s what I’ve been running in mine. Oil consumption is almost nonexistent over a 5k interval. Search for past posts about this subject here on BITOG.

    The New Fram Ultra......

I can do one better than the 7317…I have two XG6607(Mazda SkyActiv) here that are screened. Weights are 214g and 219g. All I’ve got since I still have one more Bosch D+ for the Ford in the stash. I’m optimistic that someone with the time can create a shared database!

    The New Fram Ultra......

This is a great way to tell the difference. I have one new style without screen XG7317 and it weighs 232g, in the package. I took a portable scale to Wally World and found two XG7317's with the package that mentions the metal screen. Weight was 250g and 254g.

New to me, 2017 Mazda 6 2.5L oil choice

I ran 0w-20 & 5w-30 in mine, in WI. No change in mileage or feel. Find a European manual for it, the engine can run xx-20 all the way to 20w50. It’s not picky.

    5w30 in a car spec for 0w16

I would personally run a 0w-20, just for the sake of easier to find oils. I had the same thought for my new Accord hybrid. Honda has usually allowed thicker oils in hot climates like the Middle East or OZ. All the research for this engine shows 20 grade is the thickest they use and in Europe...

Is a hybrid right for my commute?

‘21 Accord Hybrid here…5k miles so far and 52.3mpg. 70 mph will be around 45mpg, 55mph is around 55mpg. I drive 35k a year with 90% highway. I went from a Regal TourX wagon getting 30.4mpg into this car. My math at $3/gal came up with $1,400/yr in my pocket. With the current craziness in used...

Montgomery Ward oil find at the recycling center

Dropping off used PCMO today I found 4 gallon containers of Ward's Riverside heavy duty motor oil. SAE30 is embossed in the top lid. Since it was about 4F when I dropped oil off the oil inside was so thick it would hardly move. Yup, they're full and I grabbed two. Fun reading on the back where...

can i change oil without changing my fram ultra?

You are washing your clothes in some of the rinse water from the previous load. Your washer has a sump with water in it all the time, same with your dishwasher. As Crash mentioned, there’s about 25% old oil during any oil change, with new filter. My K24 Honda had a change quantity of 4.5qts and...

    How Are Mazda CX-3's

Small! Since it’s based on the Mazda2 it has virtually no hatch area. the Mazda3 is about the same size on the outside but roomier inside, and more fun to drive. Both are reliable and easy on gas.

Full size spare? Donut spare? Or tire inflator kit?

My car came with an inflator and sealer bottle. For about $100 I picked up a suitable spare and a new tire. if you’re selling the car do nothing. If my dealer can’t check spare pressure during PDI, I wouldn’t expect a buyer to.

    Front Jacking Point 2008(-2012) Malibu

Don't see anything in the front in service instructions. Stick with the Rhino Ramps, they're more than strong enough for a passenger car.
