Thank you! Yeah I kinda wondered about soot levels myself, that is why I kinda chickened out. All other points on the uoa looked good for my miles so why not? People on this site take oil change a little to seriously I think.

So back when I originally joined this website I was super anal retentive about changing my oil, you know changing out 2500 Mile full synthetic oil just because I was worried about wear numbers... Then one day I said to myself why worry so much? And you know what my life's been better ever since...

Diesels don't really seem to beat up the oil much. I do maybe 23000 miles a year 90% highway if that matters.

No bypass filter, just plain old mahle filters every 10 or 15k miles. Amsoil 5w30 euro

Definitely doesn't leak. I guess burns a quart every 10k or so

She runs like a top, burns hardly any oil...
