Removing transmission, should I replace this clutch?

Not sure if it has hot spots, here's a photo.

Removing transmission, should I replace this clutch?

RMS was in the timing chain kit I'm chaining so I'll be fitting a new on of those. Throwout bearing again looks and feels fine.

Removing transmission, should I replace this clutch?

Senior moment! It's a BMW 3 series not an Audi A3! I've been on autotrader looking at Audi A3's all evening so muscle memory kicked in! Clutch felt fine when driving.

Removing transmission, should I replace this clutch?

I'm having to remove the transmission in a diesel Audi A3 to get access to the timing components (Terrible design, but that's another story!) I've taken the transmission off and inspected the clutch, I was going to buy a new clutch but they're about $250. It doesn't look terrible although this...

Why is the inside of a diesel engine cleaner than a gas engine?

I’ve recently been changing some timing chains on a mix of diesel and gas cars. I’ve noticed with the diesels, while the oil is generally black compared to the gas however the inside of the engines are cleaner, nothing has that golden tarnish or sludge that you see in gas engines? I’ve noticed...

New plugs better low end torque?

I've just changed my plugs and the old ones where pretty bad, the gap was way out of spec. The car is a manual and before changing the plugs it was very easy to stall. If anybody else drove the car they'd stall it straight away, I've gotten used to it and know exactly how much gas to give it.etc...

Is this engine sludged up or am I been ripped off?

I've only had the car for about a year. Have no idea about OCI for the previous owner. It came with no service history.etc I travel about a thousand miles a month and change it every 4 months or so. I usually do it myself with 5W-30 Shell Helix which I get cheap from work

Is this engine sludged up or am I been ripped off?

Got back from the mechanic, after a basic oil and filter change a few weeks back (would normally do it myself but with my back problems I can't atm). The car is a Suzuki Swift 2006 with a M15A engine with just over a 100K Miles. He told me that he is concerned about the amount of sludge in...

Generator Bogs Down No Load After a Few Miniutes

I've just bought a small 6KW diesel generator, it's only 2 years old but has about 2500 hours on it. Anyway, the engine seems fine, oil is clean and it starts right up no smoke like a dream. However 5 minutes after starting the engine bogs down and the voltage drops, then the unit cut's off due...

Small Diesel Generator Smoke On Startup

No glowplugs or intake heater, in fact apart from the starter motor there is nothing electrical on the engine.

Small Diesel Generator Smoke On Startup

Hi all, I've just got a small diesel generator 5-6KW with a 400CC Yanmar L100N air cooled diesel engine inside. When I start it up it will give a puff of black smoke until it is up to speed then it runs clear as you can see in the video. Is this normal or should I be worried about it ? Video...

Did i get a good deal with this Yanmar L100

I recently made a post about a generator which the engine (Yanmar l100 clone had failed). It needed a new Block piston, and crank which would have cost me around £350 GBP / ($582 USD) I thought that wouldn't be worth it. Anyway i was looking for a new clone engine for the generator, and i...

    Wierd Diesel Generator Cylinder Damage.

That's what i thought, the piston appears to be perfect! The sleeve is cast in to the engine block, and you can get a new block for next to nothing. I was thinking it could have been due over advanced injection timing causing detonation.
