~3000 miles (give or take 1000) of abuse - two trips to the drags and one weekend at SLMP road course. Mobil 1 filter.
Looks good to me but you guys know best.
I switched to Rotella-T 5W-40 Synth. and will send it to Blackstone after the next track event.
Thanks for looking, hopefully this...
Great info. I have a similar engine (4.0L) in my 2002 WJ, and I have historically ran M1 10W-30 but have recently switched to Rotella-T 10W-30 with no real results yet. Always an M1 filter.
MBCs are generally pretty good at not bleeding until you hit desired boost, but if you really* want to control boost response, grab an EBC with gain control. I run a Greddy Profec-B Spec. II which does this.

Why?

I believe PAO based oil (Grp.IV), or I suppose even hydrocracked Grp.III + PAO ('synthetic') won't need as many VIIs for a given spread as a Grp.III. Since VIIs shear, normally, I...

I spliced an inline fuel filter from Autozone into my crank breather line and it is essentially a $1.00 catch can that works great.
But ^ is right, if you have abnormally high crank case pressure, something may be amiss other than a bad PCV valve.
Just a little insight from another platform. A fellow VR-4 driver ran a UOA on some Mobil 1 0W-40 he tracked (road course) on. According to him, it sheared down to almost a 20 weight in only ~1000 miles and a track day which is very scary.
If you are considering a dino oil, I'm of the opinion...
I really enjoy my 3000GT VR-4. It runs 11.8 on pure pump, gets 25mpg on the highway, and I've had absolutely no problems with it (that weren't my own dumb fault). AWD, 6 speed, twin turbo, and I bought it for only $9k back in '03.
Allow me to post a small picture.

Run UOA? Motul 300V? Wondering how a true Grp.V can be 'meh'.
