I believe the 15-40 is diesel rated oil, my friend has used it for 10K OCI's in his 6.0 for years and loves it. Don't know about the Long Rider designation????

Chris, what year is your Jeep? The SM is the better of the 2, but the SL is better for older engines. When I purchased the SM, I used it in my Mom's 3.0 Ford van...newer, and my Fathers 440 Chrysler motorhome older got the SL.
