Change oil before winter storage with very low miles on oil?

Guys suggesting to dump an oil that has 250 miles on it need to have their heads examined. And it’s a pretty pricey and ester based oil to begin with as well. And it’s an oil dedicated forum too. 🤣

Recycling a "water bottle" with engine oil stain, possible?

Recycling, as it’s currently being done, is pretty much a scam and just a way for well connected companies to make money. Waste Management corp is literally everywhere, even in Europe I see their logo in small towns as well as big cities. Must be quite lucrative to “manage” waste.

Harley Davidson Names Topgolf’s Artie Stars as New CEO

Harley is really a victim of its own success in the classic cruiser/tourer market. People don’t see anything from them as being attractive and the dealers probably share this view as well. Sort of like some actors/actresses get very famous and successful playing one type of role and cannot step...

What are you working on today?

Working on something different this time, but it needs to be done as I slacked off lately.

How old do these plugs look?

Did you measure the gap? If not that needs to be done. Otherwise there is really nothing to check there, unless your looking for missing electrodes or something, but you would have a misfire in that case.

Update on the 2022 Kia Soul - my first issue

Well, that’s not necessarily an indication that all of them are like that. I had the radio/navigation unit replaced after two years, fortunately still under warranty, on my Chrysler minivan and the replacement works fine to this day. But I agree that $1k is quite a steep price to pay so soon...

    Lexus Sealed Transmission

With Toyota and I would assume Lexus?, they have a procedure for the DIYers that doesn’t require a scan tool, which is very thoughtful of them. But some people may be scared because you need to jump some pins on the OBD2 port. I used it on my Toyota and it worked great. Another thing to keep in...

Remember when kids just took cars for joyrides?

I like the creativity of the youngsters, too bad they used it for something that can possibly have negative ramifications for the rest of their lives.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek 41K. Change CVT fluid?

Change it soon for sure. DIY is always best IMO because you have full control of what’s going on. It you can change the oil, you can perform a drain and fill on this thing. And if you have it since brand new and the CVT was never serviced, you can safely drain and put the same amount back in...

Update on the 2022 Kia Soul - my first issue

Not really, noise canceling headphones will mitigate road noise. A nice sound system will just sound not nice and mix with the road noise, which defeats the purpose of installing a nice sound system in the first place. You want a high quality sound system in the quietest vehicle possible to...

    Lexus Sealed Transmission

People overthink this way too much. The procedure is not precise at all, but many obsess over it as if every drop counted. It’s quite simple really, put in some extra ATF in there, get the vehicle level, bring it to the proper temp, remove the drain plug and let the excess drain until the flow...
