Thanks for your reply and yes the white and purple go to the opposite terminals on the capacitor not the same one , I will give what you suggested a go tomorrow and report back my findings thanks again

Hi all looking for some advice/help with regards to my tyre machine, the turntable bit at the top( sorry don't know the official name for it)won't spin, all i get is a buzzing noise when the pedal is pressed unless I give the belt a little tug then it spins perfectly until the pedal is released...
