    Diesel Engine Break-In

Ya, I heard several version also but one thing stands out. Whatever you do, do not run at constant speed, vary the speed or rpm. Hope that helps.

    Nissan TD42T oil requirements

That's also my exact worry. I know Delo 400 15w40 uses Isosyn Group II+ base oil but are unsure of the CXJ. Since our diesel fuel here are of high sulfur type, I decided to play safe by using Delo 400 but change it slightly more often to counter the slightly lower TBN. Thanks for confirming my fear.

    Oil turns Black immediately

My engine oil has ALWAYS turned black after a couple of hours regardless of whether it's a new engine or not. At least that holds true for my previous 2 brand new engine, both Isuzu's and builder of the Duramax.

    Why not CG-4 ??

2 years ago, I came across this article but the link doesn't seems to work any more. Luckily, I had cut and paste and save it on my pc. It's interesting reading. FYI, I think the JASO DX-1 is the code name for the new spec. and when it's ready for launch, they rename it JASO DH-1. Hence some...

    Nissan TD42T oil requirements

Hi. This is what I found 2 yrs ago when I too question the Isuzu recommendation on using CD oil in my new diesel engine, a 4JG2-TC 3.1TDi. I too simply cannot understand the call for an obsolete API CD oil when CG is already on the market. Apparently, there is another standard organisation...

What are the Oil Standards like in Japan?

o.k. maybe I got things mixed up a bit. My understanidng regarding diesel oil JASO spec. is this. They had a JASO CD and CD+ before they go for the JASO DX-1/CH-1 oil in 2000 (?) that's designed for EGR, amongs others. I believe the CD and CD+ were behind the API but they leapfrogged ahead with...

What are the Oil Standards like in Japan?

Now I know most people here are American and API is the world's most well known oil standard certification institute. But I have reason to believe the ACEA and JASO are more stringent on oil standard then the API. In another word, ACEA & JASO oil are probably better. From my reading on the net...
