    Re: Motorcraft 15w40

The Powerjokes are especially sensitive to foaming as the injectors are actuated by engine oil at extremely high pressure. The Ford literature indicates that foaming can be a problem, especially for the 7.2 DI. Since the change interval was lengthened somewhat for the 6.0, we assume there is...

    Re: Motorcraft 15w40

The Motorcraft Superduty 15W-40 is especially formulated to avoid FOAMING of the engine oil. FOAMING will lessen the likelihood that the injector rack operates as designed and performance will suffer. The injector operation depends on an oil that doesn't FOAM. 4 qts of the engine oil are...

    Wal-Mart Super-Tech 15W-40 - Spotted SL/CI-4!

The suit is on behalf of the women they have not promoted to management/supervisory positions. They are the largest employer, after the Govmint, so we are talkin lotsa people. My gut feeling is that they'll need a friendly(read crooked) judge to to make this bullet disappear. The family...

    Un-Gel ; Chemical Change

Hey Robbie, I'm fairly sure that in Alaska or very far North, kerosene or jetfuel is used, which is far less viscous. In fact, special injector pumps are available from Navistar that have special hardened parts to withstand the increased abrasion of the thinner fuels. 400 gls of fuel will get...

    Un-Gel ; Chemical Change

Houston will prolly get down to 55 or 60 F this winter, right? (He prolly travels). I thought that was a good question. I remember back in the old days sitting on the side of the road waiting for a mechanic to come and get us "ungelled", like Ill. or Indiana. Didn't have fuel heaters on the old...

    Wal-Mart Super-Tech 15W-40 - Spotted SL/CI-4!

Note on Walmart: If they can't get the class reduced on the latest lawsuit against them (1.5 million in class) and they lose the suit, you prolly won't be able to buy ANYTHING at their facilities. They be closed.

New Cummins on the way, a few questions

No wonder my '03 HO smokes so much, white smoke at that. I been putting in 3 cases every change. Glad I can save some money now.

Time for an oil change, or an OIL CHANGE??

My '01 Cherokee with front diff has 5 zerk fittings. I don't say 4wd cause it ain't. Two wheel drive with front and rear diff unless lockers installed. While fast lubes might lube chassis fittings, they also don't mind blowing out rubber gaskets.

    Oil for a 03 F250 7.3 Liter Power Stoke

I have an acquaintance that leases a Ford Van to FedEx. His first van, with PSD, was sold at 300k. The only problem he had was a faulty sending unit in the fuel tank. His second van, with PSD, now has about 150K, no problems. He uses Rotella 15W40 and whatever filters the oil change guy...

Air Flow Tests on Napa Gold, Amsoil,Jackson Racing,K&N, and Baldwin

For those with Cummins Dodges in warranty it would be wise to check the FAQ on the Dodge Ram link at the Cummins website. Cummins mentions K&N specifically and states that DC and Cummins regard highflow filters like the K&N a due to inadequate filtration leading to piston scoring. A mention...

    People's opinions on K&N

The Cummins website Dodge link has specific reference to high air flow filters, namely K&N filters in the FAQ. Cummins states that their experience is that such filters like the K&N filter allow enough stuff through to score pistons. One assumes, since they mention specifically the brand, that...
