    Ester oil and plastic camshafts.

I like running top of the line oil in my mower. Why? Because it only takes half a qt, and has no filter, and I want to maximize engine life, so why not? Anyways, I'm debating on trying Redline or Motul, but I'm curious whether this is wise considering that my engine has a plastic camshaft, and...

It does have 2eha in it but no silicates or phosphates. It has mostly all different ingredients than orange, yellow, or specialty green. I have a jug in my hands but i cant upload an image it asks for a url. Sorry im fairly new. I swear there used to be an option to choose from device... either...

    Dexcool out- PHOAT in

Hey guys. We all know the troubles that dexcool and its clones bring. But switching to regular green means a lot more changing. Im a Ford tech. We use Orange Dexcool type coolant, Yellow GO5 type, Standard Green, and Specialty Green PHOAT aka F22. The F22 cars have by far the cleanest cooling...

    Resuing mower oil!

Ok wow this really took off. Believe it not, i want to do this for FUN. i dont want to risk my expiriments on car engines. But really, i mean how much tbn is really used up in 25-30hrs run time? How much shear? Im seriously just doing this out of curiosity and for fun, not to save money, at all...

    Resuing mower oil!

Ok guys, so i have this idea. My small engines are all filterless. So the oil gets dirty, and i change it. Why? Risk of high wear metals of course. But the pil is probably still in great shape. So ive been sacing it and plan to reuse it. Heres my plan. Have 2 buckets, 12v oil pump, and a bypass...

Looking to replace Accord with a new Taurus

Ford tech here, the Taurus is a great buy. Let me clear up a few things. First, the rear pumps on awd models is not an issue on Taurus. That was a 500/Freestyle issue. Second, Taurus seems to have far less PTU issues than Edge or Explorer. Exhaust placement has nothing to do with it. A seal...

    Rotella 10W40

I always wondered why diesel oil jumps from 5w40 straight to 15w40. I assume its because of 10w40 having a bad rep in the 70s and it never caught on? Or maybe syn oil produces the 5w40 spread from the same amount of VIs as 15w40 mineral so its simpler?

Royal purple 75-140 in a subaru rear

Gear oil is gear oil. The way the ratings work make it sound like a huge dofference, but really i dont think it would be in normal terms. Its like a 30wt and a 50wt, (correct me if im way off here) but yeah, idk i run 75/140 in front and rear of my pickup, and royal purple synchromesh in the...

    First oil change for Mercedes

Check first change uoas from any engine. It is stilp plenty good insurance to change it early a few times. And i can tell you this too, an oil life meter isnt an oil change meter. When it says 0, it means "congratulations, your engine is now stained inside with varnish and desparate for clean...

    Florida push mower oil recommendations

I dont care for briggs 5hr break in and then leave the next batch the full 50 reccomendation. I changed mine in my new 175cc ohv after another 5 as there was still obvious break in metal in the oil. I used MC 10w30 syn blend HDMO (free fiddy from the bulk tank). At 15 ill do it again. If metals...

Storing wheels with tpms in bed of truck no light?

I bet it would work. No tpms ive encountered were used as vehicle speed sensors in any way. And they are within range. Try it and let us know.

March 2018-production Fram PH8316 is NOT silicone

And its still better to spend a few cents more and get ANYTHING else! Even the silicon adbvs they do make fail at a far higher rate than any of Wix, M.H./Puro or Champions products.
