I'll try that when I get off work. However, I know the button is 'popping' back out because I looked at what the lever is pushing on the transmission. I saw that the button did come back out when the lever was pushed to 'engage'. KMan

Thanks Joel, It does have the same symptom as the bypass lever being shifted. I believe it pushes a button, just as you speak of, on the front of the trans housing as well on mine. I'll try your suggestions and let you know. KMan

I have a Simplicity Model 5212.5H riding mower that I have owned for ~ 20yrs. At the start of mowing season this year, the mower will not move. I discovered the refill for the hydrostatic fluid was empty. After adding fluid the mower will still not move. However, you can push it around freely...
