valvolin synpower has low add pack
mobil 1 has FE
Pennzoil/quakerstate/shell = sludge (just go with the flow for my point)
castrol syntec isn't real synthetic with sub par UOA
supertech is walmart brand - why buy it when other brands are a dollar more and more trust worthy
Royal Purple...
edge seems to be liked around here. Edge it is then.
I'm going in the Airforce Basic next month, my job will be to read UOAs all day and perform the analysis of samples obtained from vehicles and aircraft.. sometthing tells me i'll be doing lots of free UOAs soon so i'll have lots of data to...
It seems that many here appreciate and like to use Edge. The only complaint being the price.
I am currently using mobil 1 - I just wanted to try it out once since i have not used it on any car.
My 3.0 Ranger with 125k miles Doesn't run bad with it at all
What concerns me is the Fe. I just...
Thank GOD. now that pennzoil sucks again - maybe now people will stop preaching this pyb on every thread.
there is no true basis for pyb and ultra getting all the recognition they do on this forum.
mediocre oil at a mediocre price. and no - i wouldn't trust a 5,000 mile oci on an altima with...
Whats wrong with valvoline? i vouch for that. bet it'd show better uoa than royal purple too.
they also make a very good race oil that is readily available at many retailers....
my choice would be valvoline syn power or valvoline race
i havent seen any elevated levels of sodium on valvoline...don't know what UOAs you guys are talking about.
I say go with the valvoline.
not too much a fan of castrol oil..although i like bp fuel

exactly - these people lie through their teeth.
Many auto tech instructors also tell their students not to use pennzoil.
Wether or not pennzoil still causes sludge or not is not the point. It's about the reasons i spend my money. And i spend my money for : Entertainment, Security, necessities...
I have to agree with your neighbor. I just don't trust that yellow bottle penzoil, or this ultra or super ultra or whatever they got out there now.
I can get oil that does not have the tainted history and go to sleep at night in peace with any other oil.
Why run pennzoil? the UOAs arent any...
Meh..im more of a valvoline guy - but i did use royal purple to clean out my engine because of its high add pack. i paid so much for that oil - i had to take pictures of the oil change like it was something special...and yes - it is very purple. people on here say it burns off pretty fast - but...
