I did a search and didn't see any info on a Wix 51060Xp or Napa platinum 41060. These both look like an upgraded standard WIX 51060. Has anyone run them on a small block Chevy?
Final comment for people that might search this later. I ordered a high volume standard pressure pump, I know I can just replace the spring but I want the $50 assurance. I also got a champ pans cp50lt. It's a 7 quart pan with a trap door, scraper and windage tray. I wanted a bigger oil pan and...
Yep I'm going to put on this. It should help a lot. I heard that normal trays cant handle the longer stroke of the 383. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/chp-cp50lt
I'm unsure of the pump I'll pull the pan soon and check it out just to get some peace of mind. I called Valvoline the guy there said the 10w30 and 20w50 are the same base oil and he's heard of a ton of people mixing them to get a 15w40 or somewhere close. While he can't say it's recommended from...
It's a full Stuart Warner gauge and pressure sender. I'll double check that too.
I guess I don't like it maxing out the gauge. 65-70 psi while at 3,000 rpm seems really high.
I'll try to mix the 10w30 and 20w50 first to get to something that lowers the oil pressure a bit. If that doesn't work I'll try that delvac 15w40. I found a woman calculator on here that can help give expected results. Thanks everyone.
Any other options keep them coming.
This is exactly why I want to run VR1. Would their straight 40wt be ok? I did some research and couldn't find where is too low of temps for startups on straight weight. 60+ degrees is what I'm shooting for.
I would love to keep running the 20w-50. I would think over 80psi is too high? At some point it's got to be detrimental. Good thing about an airboat is engine temps aren't ever an issue. It's got an 80 inch fan pulling air over the radiator! My water temp never gets over 190ish. Cruising in the...
Its got a SUPER high level of zinc in it. Like almost a break in oil for flat tappet cams. I've seen a few threads that say over 12-1500 ppm isn't good and can actually be harmful. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/too-much-zinc-corrosion.329163/
