You can use any oil for the cleaning phase so just follow the directions. You must use cheap dino oil for the rinse.

I tried FP/LC and i don't plan on getting more...costs too much. I am happy with regane, techron, and redline prodcts... If i wanted something for every fill up, i would use MMO or lucas.

yep...no solvents. You are better off using Regane/Techron/Redline 3-4 times a year. FP60 is no better than Lucas in my experience.

You can use CRC Air Intake Cleaner or Seafoam Deep Creep. What i do is just open up the throttle body and give it a good spray with and without the straw (just enough to coat the insides). Let it soak for 5mins, spray it down one more time then start up the car. It might not want to start right...

I have a 1990 Integra with 166k. It 15 years old this month and there is no sludge under the valve cover. There is some yellowish varnish but no nasty crud.

For my sludge bucket/oil burning saturn, i really didn't see any improvement after one treatment but that's just me.
